Dr. Melissa Anderson, a native of Sandy Springs near Atlanta, Georgia, pursued her undergraduate studies at Emory University before embarking on her medical education at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. In 2001, Dr. Anderson returned to Georgia to practice obstetrics and gynecology in Athens.
Dr. Anderson is married and has two adult children, both of whom were raised in Oconee County. Outside her practice, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and beach outings. A lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, Dr. Anderson brings the same passion and dedication to her patients as she does to her favorite team. She loves the practice of obstetrics and gynecology and is always welcoming new patients.
Dr. Melissa Halbach was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and graduated from Vanderbilt University. She earned her Medical Degree and a Master’s in Pathology from Chicago Medical School. Dr. Halbach completed her residency at Emory University, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
With over twenty years of practice in Athens, Dr. Halbach has held several prominent positions, including Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Mary’s Hospital and member of the Perinatal and Oncology Committees at Piedmont Athens Regional.
Currently, she serves as a board member and credentialing committee member of the Coalition of Athens Area Physicians. Dr. Halbach is also actively involved in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, having held leadership roles such as Junior Fellow Vice Chair and Chair.
Dr. Halbach enjoys providing care to women of all ages, with a particular interest in obstetrics, infertility treatment, hormone management, and contraception management.
She lives in Oconee County with her husband, three children, and their dog. Dr. Halbach enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and exercising in her free time.
Dr. Camille McPherson grew up in Athens and is a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School. Dr. McPherson attended Oberlin College where she played four years of Varsity soccer and served as team captain. After college, she worked as a research intern at Harvard Medical School in Boston. She received her medical degree from New York Medical College and after completing her OB/GYN residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, she returned home to Athens. Dr. McPherson has been with the Women’s Center of Athens and her two physician partners for over 15 years.
Dr. McPherson has served as Chief of the OB/GYN department at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital from 2014-2019 and served on the hospital’s Medical Executive Board. She has also served as a clinical instructor to medical students from the Athens campus of the Medical College of Georgia.
More than anything, Dr. McPherson loves taking care of her patients and feels privileged to be a healthcare provider to women of all ages. Running into families with babies that she has delivered always brings her joy. She is constantly reminded of how blessed she is to have played a small but meaningful part in the lives of so many people in this community.
Dr. McPherson lives in Athens with her husband, their daughter, and her rescue dog. In her free time, Dr. McPherson looks forward to sleeping in and watching old movies and TV shows with her family.
Natalie S. Romines, MSN, CNP, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to The Women's Center of Athens. With a diverse background in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Intensive Care Nursery, and surgery, Natalie earned her Master’s in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 1991.
Her early career saw her working as a Nurse Practitioner and IVF Nurse Coordinator in Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee. During this time, she gained certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and became a certified OB/GYN ultrasonographer, marking significant milestones in her professional journey. From 1997 to 2000, Natalie continued her practice in Laurel, MS, at the Family Health Center's OB/GYN department.
In 2000, Natalie joined The Women's Center of Athens, where she has been dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to women of all ages. She believes in making every woman feel comfortable and heard, ensuring that her questions are answered, concerns are addressed, and she leaves the office knowledgeable and confident in her health decisions. Her expertise spans adolescent gynecology, infertility, and menopause management, emphasizing an individualized approach for each unique patient.
Natalie lives in Oconee County with her husband. They have a daughter in Atlanta and a son in Philadelphia. Beyond her professional life, Natalie enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and cherishing quality time with her family.
